Launch of IDEAL project in Uganda by VNG International

IDEAL stands for Inclusive Decision making at Local Level. It is a program that was started by VNG International on 1st January, 2017 and is funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Department for Stabilisation and Humanitarian Aid).

The program is scheduled to run for five years with a core purpose of promoting legitimacy and social cohesion at the local level.

Uganda is among the seven countries benefiting from this program, along side Burundi, Mali, Palestinian Territories, Rwanda, Somalia and, South Sudan.

On October 19, 2017 IDEAL was launched in Uganda at Africana Hotel and I was honoured to be the official photographer at the commencement of a five year journey of involvement and better decision making in our town councils.

The event was graced by local government leaders from Kalangala, Kamuli, Koboko, Kasese, Lira and Bukomansimbi town councils, along side members of the Urban Local Governments Association (ULGA),and of course International and country representatives of VNG International.

Here are some of the visuals from the day.
