We live in a country where the most commonly used means of transport for literally every class of citizen is a ‘taxi.’ It is actually quite ‘non-Ugandan’ if I may say to clock twenty five years of age without having ever used a taxi.

However, the twisted and yet usually ignored truth about these taxis are the labels inscripted either at the rear or front of their (taxi) windscreens.

These labels range from family names, religious beliefs, to simply inspirational phrases.

So, my classmates and I in a group of six girls went all the way out to dig the mystery behind these labels. Are they simply a trend, culture or is it mandatory (legal demand) for all taxis in Uganda to bear these diverse labels?
